I stubled upon this video when I was looking for some articles on Guitar synth. I’ve heard its making a come back, and my new Godin guitar has a synth pickup built in. Anyway, click the screen shot to see the video of the guy playing that thing.

Last night I witnessed the power of Myspace first hand. Birds of Wales played a show at a place called the Lula Lounge. First off, its a salsa club, Latin music, so its pretty much the anti Birds of Wales venue, since we play “indie pop rock”. To make things worse, we played with a (very talented) Calypso band. Not to mention the horrible weather, snow, slush, cold… etc etc.

However, despite everything that was against us, and everything that we expected (we expected the night to basically be a dive), we still managed to pull almost 20 people to the show. Half of which were friends from our MySpace account. SIMPLY AMAZING.

These are people who have heard our music on MySpace.com and decided, hey these guys are good enough to pay 6 bux to go and. If you ask me, that is freaking awesome. Kudos to them for being awesome people, and we appreciate everyone who came out.

Please, if you dont already have a MySpace account, go join, and spend 30 minutes on there searching for people or music groups that you like, and add them. Its a pretty cool resource and a great networking tool.

Birds of Wales will be playing tonight at the Lula Lounge on Dundas St West.

Come and check us out, Its our last show of the year as a full band. Our next scheduled show will be at the Drake Hotel in January.

Since the first time I heard their music, Probably through a friend (YES BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I DID HEAR ABOUT THEM BEFORE GARDEN STATE) I’ve been in love with this band. So soothing, so peaceful. just great. They’re amazing, and I never thought that they would travel outside of the US to Canada for me to see them. BUT I GOT TICKETS, Dec 9th at the Docks (not the best venue for this kind of music). It should be grand, Nay, it WILL BE GRAND!

I’m calling it Diary of a Rock star… Its going to be about my trials and tribulations that I encounter through my path to rockstardom.
